My journey into the world of filmmaking began in the breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand, where I spent my early years immersed in film photography, storytelling, and nature. My father was a passionate photographer, and some of my earliest memories include watching him develop photos in a self-built darkroom, mesmerized by images slowly coming to life. Growing up on a farm surrounded by open landscapes, I developed a deep appreciation for natural beauty, calm spaces, and the powerful emotions they evoke. I can still picture the dramatic Nor’west sunsets against the Southern Alps, where the sky would explode into shades of orange and red—colors I’ve never quite seen replicated anywhere else. That love for capturing beauty through a lens has stayed with me throughout my career.

My first step into professional filmmaking happened in Wellington, where I worked as an assistant editor, gaining hands-on experience in cinematography, editing, and storytelling structure. This early exposure solidified my passion for visual storytelling, eventually leading me to The International Film School Sydney, where I earned an Advanced Diploma in Cinematography in 2010. Since then, I’ve worked on an array of commercial and creative projects, including TV commercials for Uniqlo, Nike, and Rebel Sport, music videos for Sony and EMI, and feature-length documentaries. My work has been showcased at international and local film festivals, including the Margaret River Film Festival, and I was honored with a nomination for Australian Music Video of the Year at the Triple J Awards. However, despite my success in the commercial world, I found myself longing for the peace and clarity that nature had once brought me.
After years of working on high-pressure commercial projects, I realized I had drifted away from the calm spaces that once fueled my creativity. Seeking balance, I returned to New Zealand to study Natural History Filmmaking at the University of Otago, rekindling my connection to nature and documentary storytelling. That experience reshaped my approach to filmmaking—reminding me that the best stories don’t just sell a product, they create emotional connections, solve problems, and leave a lasting impact. Today, as a Perth videographer, I bring this perspective into every project I take on, combining cinematic expertise, strong storytelling, and strategic thinking to help businesses and brands communicate their message effectively. My goal isn’t just to create visually stunning content, but to craft meaningful films that engage, inspire, and drive results—a unique approach that comes from years of experience across commercial, corporate, and documentary filmmaking.
