As a Perth photographer, I’m always thrilled when I get to collaborate with innovative professionals like CO-architecture. Recently, I had the pleasure of shooting a series of portraits for their team, and it was a project that truly showcased the magic of blending natural light with creative technique.
The setting was a stunning studio loft in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The space had an abundance of natural light streaming in through large windows, which gave us the perfect canvas to work with.
Natural light is one of my favorite tools as it provides a softness and authenticity that artificial lighting can’t quite replicate. To enhance this, I used reflective light strategically—positioning reflectors to fill shadows and add dimension to each portrait.
For this shoot, I brought along my trusty Fuji X100VI. Its compact design and stellar image quality made it ideal for navigating the studio space while capturing the sharp details and natural tones I was aiming for.
The camera’s ability to adapt to changing light conditions allowed me to focus on connecting with the subjects and bringing out their personalities.
